The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences comprises of 4 wings. English, Management,
skilled courses and Non-credit courses .English is offered for I year, both the semesters and as a
skilled course in III year both semesters . Management courses are offered in II and IV years.
Universal Human Values, Indian Constitution and Essence of Indian Traditional Knowledge
comes under Non-Credit courses in one of the semesters of all the four years.
The Humanities courses offered in the first year provide the budding engineers to excel in their
core engineering departments .Management Course furnishes the students with the basic
management skills which can be applicable for the students future endeavors in the workplace
environment and help the students to develop Leadership qualities and Time management. Non
credit courses are introduced mainly to nurture students of the present generation to give them an
idea about value education, what exactly our Indian constitution is and to prioritize the Indian
tradition in contrary to the western tradition.
The College is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for English Language to foster the
students in developing their language and communication skills. Students are encouraged to
participate in different activities like paper presentations, seminars, quizzes, Group Discussions
and Public speaking, in the language and communication skills labs. The department has
established Lit Minds, The Language Club of RAGHU, under which various competitions are
conducted. The students who win the competitions are encouraged by presenting certificates and
awards. The Language Club aims at providing an appropriate platform for all the students to
improve their language skills through various regular activities. The department also brings out
the annual college magazine Radiant and the Quarterly Newsletter Samvad.
